Hero animation for the launch of the new MinnKota Raptor anchor
THE BRIEF
MinnKota tasked us with introducing their brand new shallow water anchor. We wanted to highlight it's 3 defining features showing how technically advanced it is.
DIRECTION
Use 3D modeling and animation to show the deep technical details and to create a dark atmosphere that reflects the tagline "Raptor is Relentless".
takeaway
This project was a doozy, combining 3D mechanical rigging, material and lighting work, XParticles, rendering in Redshift and then taking all of that back into After Effects to composite, digitally relight and add motion graphics to all of the scenes. I learned so much here about how to render at seemingly low resolutions because I could fix a lot of the mistakes back in After Effects and that a lot of the atmosphere could be added in post to save time.
